Summary

I updated the corporate visual identity and built a new design system to better accommodate the entire product suite, while bringing a more trust-inspiring, cohesive feel to the fintech SaaS brand.

The challenge

The visual presenece of Stax Payments (a fintech/SaaS unicorn)had become inconsistent over time due to company acquisitions, staff changes, directional pivots, and organizational evolution.

As the solo brand designer, I was tasked with updating our visual identity to better accommodate all of the products wed acquired, while bringing a more modern, cohesive feel to the brand. We couldn't start from scratch, we had to operate within limitations on multiple fronts.

The solution

I worked with the Chief Marketing Officer, Brand Director, Web Developer, and other stakeholders to identify the information hierarchy, develop the content infrastructure, and clarify the deliverables. I then built a new design system that brought together the strongest parts of the past with some new, more cohesive approaches.

I designed all of the pages, illustrations, and app mockups; then worked closely with engineering to make sure everything launched smoothly.

The results

The new staxpayments.com led to increased conversions (9%), page speed (10%), and session duration (22%) in just 30 days.

The executive team was convinced wed identified a more unified, consistent design aesthetic. We've since duplicated the efforts for three other additional sub-brands and the Stax brand presence is now more professional, clean, and clear.
